How can I get rid of the smell? To eliminate the smell you need to remove the food source that the bacteria is eating. With closed shoes (sneakers, boots, etc.) this means drying the inside of the garment to remove the food source for bacteria. You could also wear open shoes like sandals or open toe shoes. You could also use a shoe or boot dryer.
