To eliminate foot odor, practice good foot hygiene to keep bacteria levels at a minimum. Don't wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row. If you frequently wear athletic shoes, alternate pairs so that the shoes can dry out. Give your shoes at least 24 hours to air out between wearing; if the odor doesn't go away, discard the shoes.

Foot odor is caused because we wear shoes and socks, our feet sweat and bacteria eat the sweat. The interaction between our sweat and the bacteria that thrive in your shoes and socks generates the odor.

To prevent your shoes from smelling you can purchase charcoal absorbent insoles that will absorb some of the odor. The only down side to shoe inserts is they need to be changed regularly.
